APHNYS – Region 9 Historian's Meeting

at Cortland County Historical Society's 

Harris Hall (former Methodist Church), 9 Grace Street, Cortland, NY

Seating is limited. Registration will close on April 24, 2026.

Lunch will be provided by M&D Deli in Cortland. They will provide assorted wraps, salads, dessert and water. The cost for this years event is $19. 

We have a great set of speakers this year:

Erin Czernecki & Tamara Pilson, Historic Preservation Program Analysts for the NYS Office of Parks, Recreation & Historic Preservation. Erin (Madison) & Tamara (Cayuga, Cortland & Onondaga) represent our region for the Division of Historic Preservation in the Survey & National Register Unit. They will talk about the national registertax credit opportunities, certified local governments and more.

Kristen Olson, a Historic Preservation Project Manager for Environmental Design & Research based out of Syracuse will talk about opportunities for mitigation funding for communities impacted by the installation of green energy, cell phone towers, etc. and how historians can assist in the research for these projects.

Jamilah Damiani & Andrew Roblee of the Preservation Association of CNY will speak about the organization, what they do, programming, their annual preservation awards and how historians they can get involved.
